Cafe Claire | Annandale

Cafe Claire

3/2 Young Street, Annandale NSW 2038

Cafe Claire is a small cute cafe located just off Parramatta road in Annandale.

They offer a variety of unique dishes ranging from sweet to savoury which all taste just as good as it sounds and looks.

Although it is a very small cafe, they do have seats located both inside and outside. For colder days like today, they do have a heater outside so you wouldn't have to worry about sitting outside (which has better lighting anyways).

Monster's Drink Grapefruit $6.50

The Monster's Drink comes in two flavours: pink angle which is grapefruit and blue heaven which is lemonade. The sparkling soda that comes with it, is placed on the side allowing you to pour it into the cup with the flavoured cube yourself. I ordered the grapefruit one, it was quite nice and does have quite a strong flavour.

Matcha Green Tea Latte $4.50

The Matcha Latte on the other hand is one of the hot drink options you could go for. The matcha latte itself was really nice as it wasn't too sweet but still strong in flavour. The latte art that comes with is really well done, topped with rose petals which really add to the looks of it.

Wholemeal Rose Pancakes $16
There are a selected of sweet dishes on the menu that could could choose from. We decided to try the Wholemeal Rose Pancakes and the Cheesecake French Toast which were both under the chef's recommended list.

Cheesecake French Toast $16
The pancakes came with walnuts, seasonal fruit including strawberries, blueberries and raspberries along with caramel and maple syrup. The pancakes were really light and had a really nice strong rose flavour to it. It wasn't too sweet either which went well with the caramel and maple syrup around it.

The cheesecake french toast was topped with cream cheese, banana, seasonal fruit, almond slide and maple syrup. The combination of cream cheese on french toast might sound a bit weird but in fact they taste really good together. The french toast had really good texture and is definitely a dish you should try!
Duck Waffle $22

As for the savoury dishes, we ordered the Duck Waffle which was also under the chef's recommendation.

Although the dish itself doesn't look as pretty as the sweeter dishes, this on was also quite nice. The duck waffle had roasted duck breast, fried egg along with a homemade mustard and maple sauce. The only downside to this dish is that it's a bit overpriced for what you get. Apart from that, the dish is quite nice as the duck was well cooked and rich in flavour.

All in all, Cafe Claire is definitely a cafe that should be on your list to visit. Not only do the dishes look nice and well presented, but the food itself taste amazing. Will definitely be coming back to try the other dishes here.
